Key Role Responsibilities
Content
- Manage comms channels, scheduling the flow of content
- Own and update the internal comms content calendar
- Proactively seek out and create content that supports key initiatives, messaging and campaigns
- Identify and reflect external/student-focused campaigns and content for an internal audience
- Develop written and visual content to support and implement campaigns
- Brief in the creation of print and digital content for channels and events
- Manage internal comms inboxes on behalf of the team
- Create and run activities and competitions for our internal social channel
Channels
Measurement and reporting
- Create campaign reports to measure effectiveness and success
- Own and update the internal comms channel tracker with readership and engagement information for all campaigns to support continuous improvement
Newsletters:
- Gather updates, write and distribute weekly newsletter (Managers' Bulletin) and bi-monthly magazine
- Create new starter profiles for inclusion in our emagazine
- Update contacts from leavers and starters spreadsheet into our mailing platform
Intranet:
- Work with stakeholders to design intranet department and functional pages
- Train departments and support them in keeping their pages up to date
- Create and update intranet pages and sites to support the delivery of campaigns
- Keep homepage (banners, buttons, widgets, events section) current
- Build new areas of the intranet as required to continue support engagement and readership
Events
- Create content, messaging and stories to support the WOW Awards process
- Assist in the planning and delivery of the annual WOW event
- Support in the planning and delivery of roadshows and conferences
Digital events:
- Support in the delivery of virtual and broadcast events
- Source and upload content to Screen Cloud channel for the support offices that reflect external and shares internal activity
Experience & Skills
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an internal comms role
- Strong writer, able to write compelling and engaging articles and messaging
- Editorial mindset
- Excellent people skills with experience of working with and managing stakeholders
- Highly organised
Desirable
- Video content production and editing
- Experience of using broadcasting software
- Microsoft Teams as a broadcasting tool
- Yammer as an internal social tool
- SharePoint
- Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro
- CMS and company intranets
- Creative with the ability to edit or create digital content
