A FTSE 250 listed international business is looking to appoint a first time Head of Communications and Investor Relations to lead the development and delivery of a full communications and IR strategy, based in London.

This role reports to the CEO, and will be responsible for creating a strategy to communicate to all internal and external stakeholders, including the investment community. You will support the CEO and CFO with developing an IR engagement plan, managing events including annual results, conferences, capital markets days and roadshows. You will be responsible for writing press releases, investor presentations, overseeing content on the website and managing the Annual Report. Additionally, you will lead the global internal and external communications strategy, raising the company profile. A key part of the role will be to develop a robust and effective internal communications programme and you will prepare a schedule of suitable employee engagement events to further communicate the brand and strategy. You will represent the company and be the key spokesperson to the media, identifying key media opportunities.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience in a communications and IR capacity and be confident representing a company as a key spokesperson to the media and to analysts. You must be comfortable setting up and leading an internal communications programme, with previous relevant experience. This role would suit an individual who hasn't previously led a team or function and looking for their next step up, to grow in to the role. You will need to be a self-starter, with lots of creativity to set this function up. You must be confident working with senior stakeholders including the board on a regular basis and operating at a fast pace in a rapidly changing environment.
